• مهمترین دستگاه در تست تجهیزات الکترونیک فانکشن یا سیگنال ژنراتور (signal generator) می باشد. فانکشن ژنراتور یک تولید کننده سیگنال یا شکل موج مانند سینوسی، مربعی، مثلثی و... با دامنه و فرکانس های مختلف می باشد.
• بطور مثال توسط این فانکشن ژنراتور میتوان شکل موج سینوسی به دامنه 5Vpp با فرکانس 12KHz را تولید کرد. سپس از این سیگنال بعنوان منبع تغذیه در مدارات الکترونیکی، مخابراتی و... استفاده کرد
